The president is unhinged
He’s spent more time planning war crimes than the war itself.
It’s worth noting that while removing a president who threatens to perpetrate a genocide from office is a perfectly correct and reasonable thing to do, it’s not going to happen. The 25th amendment requires the vice president and a majority of the cabinet to remove the sitting president from office. The cabinet is comprised of sycophants culled from the Fox News green room and the Veep is currently in Hungary giving stump speeches for a bloated right wing dictator so I wouldn’t hold your breath. Still, calls to invoke the 25th are coming from an eclectic and surprisingly bipartisan group of politicians, advocates and flat out grifters.
Alex Jones, the disgraced founder of Infowars, former congresswoman/Jewish space laser whistleblower Marjorie Taylor Greene and right wing influencer Candace Owens have all suggested it’s time for the president to spend his time on the 19th hole rather than within poking distance of the nuclear button. Plenty of Dems have joined the chorus, but calling for the president’s handpicked cronies to remove him from office when you haven’t even bothered to start impeachment proceedings is unadulterated wish casting.
It’s just after 5:30 pm eastern as I write this and the president has promised the end of Iranian civilization around 8, so if members of the Republican Party have concerns they’ve officially run out of time to voice them. The time to rid themselves of Trump would have been in the wake of the insurrection when any number of statutory restrictions could have been placed on his ability to run for a second term, but for that to happen the party at large would have to had rejected their increasingly unstable figurehead and his increasingly authoritarian ideology, and despite the odd defection there’s zero indication the base has any desire to do that. Post J6 the party actually embraced their victim hood and doubled down. This is exactly what many of them voted for, for many unchecked American aggression in pursuit of national interests isn’t a bug, it’s a feature.

Time to forget that 25th Amendment thing. Aside from the obvious fact that NONE of those required to bring the action would even remotely think about doing it, a president so "removed" need only notify Congress that he contests it, and is automatically reinstated until Congress acts. And, congressional action needed to sustain the removal requires a 2/3 confirming vote of BOTH chambers.
GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!!!!
Fruitcake. It's not just for Christmas any more!
